The Scientific Diving Centre looks back on a successful and professionally enriching annual general meeting. Numerous members, alumni and interested parties came together to look back on the past year, discuss current research topics and look ahead to upcoming projects.

A central part of the evening were the four specialist presentations, which highlighted current developments and research topics in the field of scientific diving. The topics presented included anthropogenic influences in the northern Adriatic Sea, the SUBmarIne project – human expertise meets autonomous underwater technology, the use of scientific documentation techniques in police diving operations, and medical research findings from 2025 on inert gas bubble load. The lectures offered exciting insights and led to discussions.

A ceremoniously moment was the presentation of certificates to the participants of the 2025 excursion, recognising their commitment and professional achievements.
In addition, the opportunity to participate in the ISO crossover course for alumni was presented, which enables former participants to gain further qualifications in scientific diving. Interested scientific divers who would like to participate in this course are requested to contact Thomas [dot] Grab [at] sdc [dot] tu-freiberg [dot] de by email.

The evening was rounded off with an open exchange of ideas and experiences. In a relaxed atmosphere, new approaches for cooperation and active participation in SDC projects and plans for 2026 were discussed.
With many new ideas, exciting prospects and a strong network, the Scientific Diving Centre is starting the coming year with great motivation.
