During a fascinating talk by Kristina Wittig from “WME eG” (https://wme-eg.de/), our students gained valuable insights into the world of community energy and energy cooperatives.

One thing became particularly clear: the energy transition will not succeed through new technologies alone, but above all through people who take responsibility and get involved at a local level. Community energy co-operatives make precisely this possible. They create regional value, promote social participation and drive forward the expansion of renewable energy in partnership with local residents.
