Research areas of the group
We conduct research in various areas of heat transfer and fluid dynamics using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) tools. For this purpose, we use both our own and commercial CFD codes. Our projects focus on the following areas
- Modelling and simulation of reactive flows, especially in porous media
- Innovative design and optimisation of heat exchangers for various applications
- Design, Optimisation and implementation of fuel-air mixers and distributors for various burners
- Process-dependent design and analysis of furnace heaters
- Simulation of fluid-structure interactions
- Simulation of phase transformations (in porous media)
- Determination of the properties of porous media using the Lattice Boltzmann Method (LBM)
- Development, Analysis, implementation and application of the Lattice-Boltzmann method for the simulation of multiphase flows, phase transformations, flows in porous media and high-temperature applications
