The Collections of the TU Bergakademie Freiberg: The Technical Mineralogy Collection
The teaching collection "Technical Mineralogy" at the Institute of Mineralogy of the TUBAF contains illustrative and examination material that is used to design corresponding lectures and exercises for students. On the one hand, it includes material and raw material samples from a wide variety of technical fields (e.g. various mineral raw materials, synthetic minerals, building materials, ceramics, slags, etc.), and on the other hand, thin sections for microscopic examinations with associated material samples of various materials and waste materials (e.g. ancient and recent ceramics, building materials, refractory materials, slags, etc.).
On 9 November at 5 pm, Prof. Dr. Jens Götze will report on this special collection. Meeting point is the foyer in the Abraham-Gottlob-Werner-Bau, Brennhausgasse 14. Admission is free, interested parties are cordially invited.
