At 4 o'clock in the morning, while Freiberg was still asleep, we set off for Munich with a total of six employees from the Institute of Applied Robotics and Automation (Prof Unland, Dr Zinke, Philipp Niebel, Daniel Surek, Harshal Pawase and P. Eitz) and ten motivated mechanical engineering students to visit Bauma 2025 - the world's largest trade fair for construction machinery.

The day was characterised by impressive excavator giants and innovative concrete power. Our programme began with an exclusive visit to the ABI Group, including a guided tour of the stand and a lunch snack. We then made a short stopover at the BAUER Group, followed by an exciting guided tour of the RUBBLE MASTER stand, where we were able to experience jaw and impact crushers up close. We also visited stops at SBM, Kleemann, a Wirtgen Group company, and the TU Bergakademie Freiberg stand.

In the afternoon, we explored the trade fair on our own, equipped with clear research assignments and the opportunity to experience the latest construction machinery up close. We returned to Freiberg around midnight. Tired, but absolutely impressed by the impressions, we would like to thank all the exhibitors for the fascinating technology, the inspiring discussions and the numerous suggestions. We are already looking forward to the next time - then again with steel in our eyes and dust on our shoes!
