Friends and Sponsors of the Institute for Processing Machines and Recycling Systems Technology
Our strong connection to the industry!
The Friends and Sponsors Association of the Institute of Mineral Processing Machinery and Recycling Systems Technology was initiated in 2006 by member companies of the German Engineering Federation (VDMA) and companies from the primary industry, to support the Institute of Mineral Processing Machines in research and teaching and to intensify the exchange between the TU Bergakademie Freiberg and industry.
The Friends and Sponsors Association would like to use its funds to support the education of young people at the institute, for example through supervised student research projects, dissertations and doctoral theses, the organisation of specialist excursions and assistance with starting a career.

In addition, one focus of the activities is on the development of new further training concepts. The aim is for machine manufacturers and users to attend training courses to gain knowledge of processing technology. The background to this project is that the technical training of young employees is a task that is usually still unsystematically solved in companies, which often results in long and expensive familiarisation periods. The companies hope that the new training measures will above all increase efficiency and cost savings.
In addition, industry and the institute want to promote even more joint research projects, attract higher third-party funding and offer more scholarships for students and doctoral candidates.

Machine and plant engineering and the basic materials industry are particularly important to us. It is often overlooked that they create the most jobs in Germany and contribute a very high proportion of exports."
