Start of the LiCARE project: promoting the circular economy for lithium-ion batteries
Our institute is pleased to announce the launch of the LiCARE (Lithium Circular Economy Approaches for Responsible E-waste Recycling) project. This project aims to develop sustainable solutions for the recycling of lithium-ion batteries and thus strengthen the circular economy in this area.
In LiCARE, innovative technologies and processes are being researched to optimise the recovery of valuable materials from used batteries. By efficiently recycling resources, we want to contribute to the reduction of electronic waste and minimise the environmental impact.
The project is being carried out in close cooperation with partners from industry and research in order to develop practical and economically viable solutions. We are convinced that LiCARE represents an important step towards a more sustainable future and look forward to the challenges and successes ahead.
