• Course content: Participants will be able to understand statements on topics relevant to them personally, as well as key points in simple messages. They will be able to handle very brief, simple everyday communication situations and write short, simple messages and notes.

• Examination/Degree: 4 LP and a certificate upon successful completion. The module concludes with a written examination (90 minutes). Students will be granted admission to the examination provided they have actively attended at least 80 per cent of the courses.

  Spanish A1 Intensive Course

Registration: Enrolment is required for this course. This can be done online via OPAL. Registration is open from 15 October until Thursday 22 October 2026, 10.00 am.

• Prerequisites: successful degree in Spanish A1 at TU Bergakademie Freiberg or proof of equivalent language skills
• Costs: Participation in the course is free of charge for students and PhD candidates enrolled at TUBAF, as well as for staff. For auditors, a course fee of €30 per semester is charged.

• Course content: The course further develops the four language skills: listening, speaking, writing and reading. Participants will be able to communicate in simple spoken and written form in basic everyday and academic situations.
• Teaching materials: ‘Ene A2’ course book and workbook, published by Hueber
• Examination/degree: 6 LP and a UNIcert® Basis certificate upon successful completion. The module examination consists of a written test covering reading comprehension and text production (65 minutes) and an oral examination covering listening comprehension and speaking (30 minutes). Admission to the examination is granted provided that the student has actively attended at least 80 per cent of the courses.

  Spanish A2 (UNIcert® Basic) intensive course

• Course content: This level focuses on general language skills and intercultural understanding. It provides a foundation for further development and is aligned with Level B1 of the Council of Europe’s Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Participants will be able to express experiences, events, ambitions, needs and wishes in a simple manner, communicate on everyday and study-related topics, and write simple texts using the most important grammatical structures and basic vocabulary.
