Seismological measurements at schools
The Institute of Geophysics and Geoinformatics and the associated "Berggießhübel Seismological Observatory" offer schools the opportunity to set up a "Raspberry Shake" station. This station is supplemented by a small mini PC that enables the visualisation of information. This not only includes a visualisation of the location of your own station and other stations worldwide, but also shows the current earthquake areas in real time and much more.
Pupils have the opportunity to engage with the fascinating and socially significant topic of earthquakes. Visualisation is possible at any time, either via a monitor in the school or via the "ShakeNet" app outside lesson times.
Schools that operate their own seismological station become part of the global network of "Raspberry Shake" seismology stations. They thus make a significant contribution to the observation and research of earthquakes.
