Research profile

The research profile of the Technische Universität (TU) Bergakademie Freiberg is focussed on geosciences, materials sciences, energy sciences and environmental sciences. The spectrum ranges from research into new materials and the process engineering design of material conversion to the management of material cycles.

On the one hand, the subject of the chair's research is operations management, i.e. the analysis, planning and control of innovation, production and service processes in industrial companies. On the other hand, the cross-company coordination of value-added activities, in particular logistics processes (Supply Chain Management) as well as technology management are the main research areas of the chair.

Research focuses on strategic metals and minerals, which are of great importance for technology development in Germany, as well as the associated resource technologies:

Furthermore, selected problems of Operations Management and Supply Chain Management are dealt with.
