ARENA software internship Course

In the software internship Simulation with ARENA, business planning problems from the field of production & logistics are solved with the help of the ARENA software (Rockwell Automation) in the simulation-oriented programming language SIMAN.

The focus of the course is a general introduction to simulation. The main features of the ARENA software package will also be presented. This includes working on numerous examples and creating several small simulation programmes.

Each participant will receive a certificate at the end, to the following conditions:

  • Timely enrolment in the Arena course in OPAL

  • Attendance and successful participation in all dates of the software practical
  • Passing the final assignment
Objectives and content of the course
  • Overview of the simulation of manufacturing processes
  • Discussion of the theoretical queueing model
  • Simulation study without software support
  • Introduction to the ARENA simulation software
  • Modelling of basic and advanced processes in ARENA
  • Creation of meaningful result reports
  • Use of the Input Analyzer to determine statistical distributions
  • Processing of the final document task (own model)
