Energy transition, circular economy, coal phase-out, renewable power generation, alternative fuels - we come across all these buzzwords in the media on a daily basis and they provide plenty of material for discussion. But how does electricity really get into the socket? Or what are e-fuels? And how sustainable is energy generation really?
In addition to the regular information events at TU Bergakademie Freiberg, such as the Campus Days and the Night of Science & Business, the Institute of Energy Process Engineering and Chemical Engineering (IEC) organises various events to educate school students on current research topics and to provide them with guidance on their studies.
Outdoor tour "Knowledge Journey Carbon" - an educational trail on the outdoor area of the Reiche Zeche am IEC about the element carbon, its influence on our lives, our prosperity, the climate and the environment. The tour is open daily from 08:00 to 20:00 and admission is free. We are happy to offer guided tours. Let the teaser get you in the mood for the tour and make you curious.
Specialist presentations and workshops at our IEC or directly at your schools on topics such as "Shape the energy transition with us!", "Alternative fuels - what will we refuel with tomorrow?" or "Out of the plastic crisis - recycling plastic waste".
Energy project day(s) with short lecture, workshop, laboratory and technical centre tour and visit to large-scale test facilities.
Student university at the TU Bergakademie Freiberg, where schoolchildren deal intensively with a wide range of engineering topics during the holidays. During the "Technology Week", you will gain valuable insights into the varied and exciting fields of work of energy process engineers. You can also discover the city of Freiberg as an attractive place to study and live and take the opportunity to discuss all your questions about studying in person.
Pupil internship possible depending on interest with activities in the areas of laboratory, plant and test operation, secretariat or IT.
Online energy quiz with questions and information about energy and power generation that shed light on a topic that moves us like no other.
We are also happy to discuss individual enquiries and work out a suitable event. The best way to do this is to contact us directly with a specific topic request.
