Pilot plant in Breitenau

Our pilot plant in a nearby quarry enables research and teaching on machines on an industrial scale.

Thanks to the generous support of our industrial partners as part of joint research projects, but also with the institute's own funds, the plant could be equipped with important crushing machines for raw material processing. Our students use these systems to carry out practical investigations, such as checking the crushing gap, verifying the throughput rate, analysing the crushing products and the necessary work requirements, etc.

In conjunction with the internship, it is also possible to visit the active gravel and chippings processing plant. This allows theoretically acquired knowledge to be immediately applied and put into practice.
The current expansion of the pilot plant includes profile roll crushers, jaw crushers and impact crushers.
