Forschungsprojekt ExtrA

Following a period of intensive work, the research project 'ExtrA – Grassroots movement in the energy transition: The role of extreme events for the social acceptance of sustainable heat supply' has been brought to a successful conclusion!

The forward-looking project was supported by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy with funding of approximately €850,000.

A central finding:
Individuals who are directly affected by extreme events exhibit, for a short period, a greater willingness to switch to sustainable heating systems. This provides crucial impetus for communication and acceptance-building efforts in the heat transition.

We extend our sincere thanks to all consortium partners for their outstanding collaboration:

The project may have concluded, but its story continues. Over the coming weeks, we will be sharing compelling insights from our citizens' dialogues and focus groups via the LinkedIn profile of Prof. Dr Dirk Rübbelke. New posters, publications, and a concise policy brief are also forthcoming.
