On this page you will find the most important information about the Advanced Materials Analysis (AMA) degree programme, primarily for students who have already been admitted and need information about the start of the first semester.

Admission to this degree programme takes place in the winter semesters. Teaching in the winter semester 2024 begins on 14 October.
In addition to the general information events organised by the International Centre, the faculty also offers introductory events specifically for AMA at the begining of October:

In these events you will receive all relevant information about the study programme. The following are points that are often requested in advance.
Compulsory modules for first-year students are in the summer semester:
- Functional Nanomaterials
- Fundamentals of Crystallography
- Introduction to Atomic and Solid State Physics
- Quantum Theory I
Possible compulsory elective modules:
- Semiconductors
- Stochastic Methods for Materials Science
- Thermodynamics of Materials without Lab Course
There is also a German course, for which placement tests must be completed by the beginning/mid-October (exception: starting course level A1.1)
