Multifunctional, coarse-grained, refractory composites and material composites for large-volume key components in high-temperature processes
Materials for high-temperature applications make an essential contribution to our society. Without them, there would be no light, no cars, no gas turbines, no wind and solar energy. You can't see them, but they are needed directly or indirectly everywhere.
The increasing demand for environmentally friendly and resource-saving processes and higher efficiency levels is leading to rising requirements for high-temperature materials.
The DFG Research Unit FOR 3010 has set itself the goal of developing and researching a new generation of coarse-grained, refractory composite materials based on pre-synthesised coarse grains of refractory metal and refractory ceramics.
