Mineralogical Collection Germany

The "Mineralogical Collection Germany" Foundation is an unincorporated foundation administered by the Technische Universität Bergakademie Freiberg. The foundation was established in June 2008. Its purpose is to promote art and culture through the collection of important German minerals from a scientific, aesthetic or historical perspective. The purpose of the foundation is also to collect geoscientifically relevant exhibits with the aim of safeguarding and preserving Germany's mineralogical cultural heritage. The foundation also aims to promote science and research by utilising the exhibits for research and teaching purposes.

The "Mineralogical Collection of Germany" exhibition is located in the Krügerhaus and is open to visitors. It presents minerals from various levels.

Thanks to annual donations of minerals by private donors, the total collection comprises over 400 objects.
