- Assistenz bei der Herstellung von Schmelzen, Formen, Werkzeugen sowie Aufbau von Versuchsständen

Research Assistant (m/f/d)

These are your tasks:
- Working on a research project on the reduction of CO2 emissions through the use of CO2-neutral fuels (H2/NH3)
- Thermochemical modeling of processes with subsequent model derivation (Connected Local Equilibria) and sub-sequent combination with fluid dynamic models based on industrial data
- Creation of a digital twin for automated process optimization
- Support for process conversion in the industry
- Work in cooperation with industrial partners and other institutes
- Presentation of results at specialist conferences and preparation of scientific publications
Research Assistant (m/f/d)

Scope of position: 1.0 FTE (40 hours/week; part-time possible)

These are your tasks:
- Working on a research project to reduce CO2 emissions through the use of CO2-neutral fuels (H2) in the melting of copper cathodes for the production of semi-finished copper products
- Coordination and participation in the conversion of a pilot plant to H2 burner operation by cooperation partners
- Independent execution of laboratory experiments with subsequent evaluation and transfer to the technical and pilot plant
- Research, Investigation, simulation and evaluation of the influence of H2 on liquid copper with regard to the chemical-physical properties
- Investigation and implementation of an online measurement methodology for hydrogen content in liquid copper
- Work in cooperation with industrial partners and other institutes
- Presentation of the results at specialist conferences and preparation of scientific publications
Research Assistant (m/f/d)

The Institute of Non-Ferrous Metallurgy and High-Purity Materials is working on the development of new processes for the production and recycling of non-ferrous metals. As part of the CircEcon project, the technological design of plants for refining aluminium scrap is to be developed together with the supplier(s) and the procurement of the plants is to be coordinated together with the administration. Preliminary tests and modelling work will be carried out at the institute and validated on a pilot scale at the newly constructed plant in Lusatia.
These are your tasks:
- Development and construction of a new technology line for the refining of light metals
- Derivation of the necessary equipment and plant technology test setups
- Coordination and active support in the construction of the process and plant technology
- Preparation and development of scientific projects for the operation of the plants, especially in the field of secondary metallurgy of aluminium
- Close cooperation with the project partner
Research Assistant (m/f/d)
These are your tasks:
− Processing of a research project for the digitalization of a pyrometallurgical melting plant
− Development and testing of various new and existing sensors and measuring systems and subsequent integration of these into a data processing and evaluation system
− Creation of a digital twin with coupled simulation of the plant process based on real operating and sensor data
− Participation in research project meetings and communication with the research project administration
− Documentation of the work carried out
− Work in cooperation with industrial partners and other institutes
