A 20% discount on the publication fee is still granted for publications in pure Gold Open Access journals. The invoice is initially addressed centrally to the University Library, which then settles the costs with the respective institute or – if the funding conditions are met – an application can be made to the Publication Fund.

Please note when submitting publications:

• The submitting corresponding author must be clearly affiliated with TU Bergakademie Freiberg. In the case of multiple affiliation, the TUBAF affiliation must be stated in first place. The research results described must have been (predominantly) produced at TU Bergakademie Freiberg.
• The official email address (.tu-freiberg.de) must be used for submission.
• All publications by Freiberg authors should include the Open Access licence CC BY.
• An ORCID iD should increasingly be specified for all Freiberg authors.
• Please use the Open Access options. Even if they are not used, we as the contractual partner will be charged costs, so in such cases we will ask the authors for the reasons for non-use.

ELSEVIER: The acceptance date is decisive. So publications that are accepted in recognized Elsevier journals from 1 January 2024 are covered by the contract.

Wiley: The acceptance date is decisive. This means that publications accepted in recognized Wiley journals from 1 January 2024 are covered by the contract.

Springer Nature: The date of approval is decisive. Publications that are confirmed by the University Library from 1 January 2024 are covered by the contract.

As part of these DEAL contracts, members of TU Bergakademie also have extensive reading access to almost the entire journal portfolio of these publishers.
