On February 25 and 26, the second SynFe conference took place at our institute, attended by representatives from academia and industry. Various facets of fundamentals and applications of Fischer-Tropsch synthesis and CO2 methanation were covered in 60-minute slots with special focus on Fe catalysts. The lectures and discussions addressed slurry and fixed bed reactors, synthesis of CH4, higher alcohols, olefins and paraffins as well as reaction mechanisms and catalytically active phases. Many thanks to all participants and especially the speakers M.Sc. Philipp Graefe (KIT), Dr. Erik Reichelt (Fraunhofer IKTS Dresden), M.Sc. Alexander Groß (TUBAF), Prof. Kontradenko (LIKAT Rostock), Prof. Visconti (Politecnico di Milano) and M.Sc. Christian Schmidt (TUBAF). The next SynFe conference is probably expected to take place in 2027 or 2028.
