Professor Dr Eva-Maria Roelevink will move from the University of Mainz to TU Bergakademie Freiberg with her appointment from 1 August 2024.
In Mainz, the habilitated historian has been a junior professor of economic history since 2017; before and after her doctorate, she was an academic counsellor at Ruhr University Bochum.
Her teaching and research interests lie in the history of the coal and steel industry(s), the transformation of glocal resource economies and the management of resource conflicts, in the history of materials and in corporate history policy. Economic history is a highly interdisciplinary field of teaching and research. Co-operation and collaboration with other subject areas are essential. Perspectives on materiality and resource flows are linked to economic action and economic change.
In the coming years, the professorship will impart specialist economic history skills in teaching and take up cooperative research activities in the fields of institutional change, glocal mining industries and economic action.
