As part of the "Art meets Science" format, artist Walter Maria Padao is presenting large-format paintings in the atrium of the ZeHS. His works create an exciting dialogue with the architecture of the building and the research of the scientific centre.

Both the research at the ZeHS and Walter Padao's painting installations are about movement, transformation processes and the many unexpected coincidences that occur during experimentation. In the creation of art and in the scientifically guided cognitive process, preliminary considerations, the experimental set-up and the observation and interpretation of the realisation play a decisive role. And contrary to or precisely because of all planning, expectation, measurement and observation, the objects of art or research reveal themselves in the process of their transition between states in an often unexpected, almost defiant and disruptive way. "Things stand side by side in a strange and mysterious way if you refrain from chaining them together in the same way," Padao states, adding: "They start to slide, create unexpected transitions and generate a pull into the timeless. Experimenting in this openness, chance always comes to the rescue."

Interested parties are cordially invited to visit the exhibition and the vernissage on 7 November 2024 at 6 pm. The event is open to the public and admission is free.
