With the launch of the first Montgolfiere in 1783, a dream of mankind, the dream of flying, came true. The Gersthofen Balloon Museum near Augsburg, probably the first balloon museum in the world, shows the history of ballooning from its beginnings to the present day. The museum's presentation reflects the history of technology as well as cultural and even sporting history. The lecture introduces this extraordinary museum and guides you through the colourful history of ballooning.
