On this page you will find the most important information about the Metallic Materials Technology (MMT) degree programme, primarily for students who have already been admitted and need information about the start of the first semester.

Admission to this degree programme takes place in the winter and summer semesters. Teaching in the summer semester 2024 begins on 2 April.
In addition to the general information events organised by the International Centre, the faculty also offers introductory events specifically for MMT at the end of March:

Thursday, 28 March, 2:00 p.m., MET-2065 (Gustav-Zeuner-Str. 5, lecture hall, 2nd floor)
In these events you will receive all relevant information about the study programme. The following are points that are often requested in advance.
Compulsory modules for first-year students are in the summer semester:
- Fundamentals of Foundry Technology
- Fundamentals of Metal Forming
- Fundamentals of Steel Processing
- Introduction to Nonferrous Metallurgical Processing
- Materials Science and Mechanical Properties of Metals
Possible compulsory elective modules:
- Innovation Analysis and Management
- Project Risk Management
There are also German courses, for which placement tests must be completed by 24 March. However, the tests will also be offered in September for the winter semester!
