CMWS Graduate Workshop 2025: Connecting scales in water science

 

We invite you to join and present your work at the 2025 CMWS Graduate Workshop from the 22nd to 24th of September, hosted at TU Bergakademie Freiberg.  The theme of the workshop is connecting the various scales of water research from attosecond excitations to millennial glacial movements, by bring together graduate students and post-doctoral fellows to share their research. There are several tour options including the active research mine Reiche Zeche, an exhausted silver mine on campus that houses several research programs.

In the registration form, you have to choose an event/tour for the last day (September 24). You can choose from: 

Lab Tour

Get a guided tour through the ZeWaF labs! This includes the labs of water chemistry, sensor materials and biogeochemistry.

Excursion to the Reiche Zeche

The still active research mine Reiche Zeche is an an exhausted silver mine on campus that houses several research programs.

(limited to 20 participants)

Fluid simulation

Observe a demonstration of the water and liquid tunnels, as well as the wind tunnel in operation and the contactless optical measurement techniques in an example experiment!

City tour through Freiberg

 Discover Freiberg's historic old town centre with its unique sights!

Every tour will take about 2 hours. 

After registration via the registration form, you will payment information via an invoice.

Presentation

If you want to present your reserach either in a talk or via a poster, please fill in the abstract template (download below) until September 8th. 

After September 8th we will develop a detailed time schedule with oral presentation as well as a list of all poster presentations.

Accomodation

The accomodation during the workshop si self-organised and is not included in the registration fee.
