13th–16th May 2024: Let’s talk about water

Dear PhD Students of Hydrogeology and Related Fields,

We are thrilled to extend our warmest invitation to you for the upcoming PhD Conference of Hydrogeology, hosted by TU Bergakademie Freiberg. This conference offers an excellent opportunity to come together and delve into the fascinating world of hydrogeology and beyond. 'Let's talk about water' aims to be a platform where ideas flow freely, connections are forged, and knowledge is shared.

Conference Details:

  • Dates: 13th–16th May 2024
  • Location: Freiberg, Germany

Conference Highlights:

  • Presentations: We invite you to showcase your research topic through either oral or poster presentation to share your findings, exchange ideas, and foster collaborations within the community.
  • Keynote Talks: Gain insights in different fields from experts through two keynote talks, offering valuable perspectives and sparking thought-provoking discussions.
  • Evening lecture: The 2024 Birdsall-Dreiss Distinguished Lecturer Prof. Dr. Ben Rostron gives a talk on 'Geology and hydrogeology at Aquistore: Canada's first CO2 storage project associated with a commercial-scale coal-fired power plant.'
  • Workshop: Engage in a workshop for enhancing your skills and dealing with challenges during your PhD.
  • Excursions: At the former silver mine 'Reiche Zeche' you'll have the unique opportunity to explore underground labs. A trip to the 'Revierwasserlaufanstalt Freiberg' brings you back into historical times when mines were powered solely by water.

For more information see our flyer.

We look forward to welcoming you to Freiberg.

Warm regards,

The PhD Students of the Chair of Hydrogeology and Hydrochemistry, TU Bergakademie Freiberg
