From 17-20 March 2025, the international acoustics community gathered for the 51st Annual Meeting on Acoustics (DAGA 2025, Link: https://www.das-daga2025.eu/) in Copenhagen - one of the most important forums for acoustics research in Europe. The MSE Lab at TU Bergakademie Freiberg was once again represented with exciting contributions and presented the latest results from the fields of ultrasound and signal processing.

Our contributions at DAGA 2025:

  • Signal-based estimation of reconstruction parameters for Synthetic Aperture Focusing in Scanning Acoustic Microscopy (https://pub.dega-akustik.de/DAS-DAGA_2025/konferenz-1547.html?article=68)

  • A Simulation-Based Comparison of Beamforming Strategies for Local Speed of Sound Estimation using Annular Arrays (https://pub.dega-akustik.de/DAS-DAGA_2025/konferenz-1548.html?article=70)

  • Dynamic Spatial Discretisation of Sound Field Calculation of Arbitrary Shaped Sources via Generalized Ray Theory (Link: https://pub.dega-akustik.de/DAS-DAGA_2025/konferenz-1819.html?article=86)

  • Focusing Properties of Annular, Line and Matrix Arrays for Ultrasound Thermometry (Link: https://pub.dega-akustik.de/DAS-DAGA_2025/konferenz-1550.html?article=257)

In addition to the technical highlights, DAGA 2025 also offered numerous opportunities to exchange ideas with international partners from research and industry. One particular highlight was the atmospheric conference dinner at the legendary Copenhagen music club VEGA - an evening full of discussions, music and new ideas.

We are already looking forward with great anticipation to the upcoming DAGA 2026, which will take place from 23-26 March in Dresden. There, J.-Prof. Christian Kupsch from the MSE Lab will be organising a structured session on "Smart Systems and Signal Processing for Ultrasound" - an exciting forum for current developments in intelligent ultrasound technology, to which we cordially invite you.
