Dr. Anja Brumme will present the paper "Green Hydrogen as a Driver of Transformation in Sub-Saharan Africa" in September at the 19th IAEE European Conference in Munich. In this paper (joint work by Anja Brumme, Alexander Golub, Anil Markandya and Dirk Rübbelke), a normative recursive growth model for a semi-industrialised, less developed economy is developed (based on Feder 1983, Golub 2020 and Dixit & Pindyck 1994). As a first proof of concept, the model is calibrated for Cameroon. The potential effects of green hydrogen on key macroeconomic variables are determined. Uncertainties are taken into account by means of Monte Carlo simulations and sensitivity analyses with regard to the model assumptions.
