The thesis entitled "Investigation of machine learning algorithms for automated damage detection in mechanical drivetrains" was completed at IAV GmbH and supervised by J.-Prof. Dr Christian Kupsch (MSE Lab) from the university. The work deals intensively with the signal processing of structure-borne noise data, combining kinematic modelling and machine learning methods, in particular anomaly detection. This allows damage to the drivetrain to be detected at an early stage without the need for large amounts of learning data.
