How to make advanced servitisation work

New article accepted for publication in International Journal of Operations & Production Management

Manufacturers are increasingly providing services, which implies a change in the business model from a primarily product-centric to a more service-centric business model. Such "servitisation" can be implemented in a number of ways. In our paper "Capability configurations for successful advanced servitisation", co-authored with Nima Heirati (University of Surrey), Sabrina Thornton (University of Sheffield) and Stephan Henneberg (Queen Mary University of London), we address the question of how companies can successfully implement advanced servitisation. Based on the results of an empirical study, we show that this can be achieved in combination with specific organisational capabilities and that several design options can be successful.
