Principles of Marketing

After an introduction into marketing, the module approaches the subject from different perspectives and discusses relevant concepts and frameworks. The module also looks at marketing in specific contexts. The module is offered in the winter term and is delivered in a lecture-exercise format. The module is taught in German language. Marketing Management

The module discusses the marketing management process and examines the development and implementation of marketing strategies. Special emphasis will be placed on marketing decision areas and the opportunities of deriving an integrated marketing approach. In addition, the module looks at relationship management. Proseminar Marketing

The module discusses guidelines for academic work and writing. It provides an overview of methods to review, analyze and systemize literature. In addition, formal requirements of academic papers and ways to communicate insights effectively are discussed. The module is offered both in the summer and winter term. Marketing Intelligence

The module discusses the fundamentals of market research and approaches to obtaining marketing information. It outlines the steps in the market research process, focusing on defining the research problem, selecting the research design, executing the research design, preparing and analyzing data, and reporting findings. Product and Service Management

This module discusses strategies, frameworks, and approaches of product and services management. It covers areas such as new product development, product portfolio management, product bundling and product elimination. In addition, the module looks at services management and strategies to position offerings. The module is offered in the summer term and has a lecture-exercise format. Sales Management

In this module, the objectives, roles, and functions of sales management are discussed. In addition, the module looks at frameworks to analyze sales systems and develop sales strategies. It also illuminates traditional and new forms of sales and the management of sales systems. The module is offered in the winter term and has a lecture-exercise format. Commodity Marketing

The module discusses the basics of commodities and commodity marketing and outlines different concepts, frameworks and approaches related to the processes of commoditization and de-commoditization. It approaches the topic from different perspectives and integrates them to develop a comprehensive understanding of commodity marketing. Seminar Marketing

This module provides advanced knowledge on academic work and writing. It illuminates approaches to review literature, develop an argument, and communicate contributions. The module also outlines formal requirements for academic student work and opportunities to communicate effectively. The module is offered in both the summer and winter term.
