A hands-on science experience for school classes and the public on 12 June at TU Bergakademie Freiberg: geoscientists will present their exciting research, including an underground surveying robot with a multi-sensor system, at the public and interactive (German language) geo-show "Underground - The Geo-Show". This is not the only way for participants to immerse themselves in the unique "Reiche Zeche" research and educational mine and experience the fascinating Freiberg underworld up close.

The event is aimed in particular at middle school classes, but is also open to students and interested members of the public. The programme will be hosted by well-known TV presenter Johannes Büchs from the "Sendung mit der Maus" team.

Experts, including Franziska Günther, Jing Li, Christoph Büttner and Thomas Wotte from TU Bergakademie Freiberg, will take the audience on a journey into the Earth's subsurface. They will also provide insights into one of the world's largest drill core repositories at the MARUM research centre in Bremen via a live link.

The geo-show will take place as part of the Night of Science and Business in Freiberg, which is organised by TU Bergakademie Freiberg and the city of Freiberg.

12 June, 10.30 am in the Audimax, Winklerstraße 24, 09599 Freiberg. Admission is free. School groups are asked to register, stating the number of participants.
