Ahmed Mahmoud took part in the 26th Dresden Machine Tool Seminar 2025, organised by the Professorship for Machine Tool Development and Adaptive Controls (LWM) at TU Dresden in collaboration with Fraunhofer IWU.
This year's central theme, "From helper to leading role: robots in production", was closely related to our research focus. The seminar provided an important forum for discussions on how robotics is evolving from a supporting tool to a central, intelligent player in modern production environments.
Ahmed was able to interact with leading researchers and industry partners and gain valuable insights into the latest advances in human-robot collaboration, mobile manipulation and digital twin technologies. Highlights included live demonstrations of humanoid robots and next-generation industrial platforms, showing their potential for flexible, efficient and safe integration into complex manufacturing workflows.
We extend our sincere gratitude to the organisers and to all participating companies, including fruitcore robotics, SICK, Wandelbots, and EVASIVE ROBOTICS, for curating such a dynamic and forward-looking programme. The "Marketplace with short presentations" offered a unique opportunity to witness innovative solutions firsthand and foster new connections.
As we continue to advance our research in automation and autonomous systems, events like this are essential for staying at the forefront of technological development and building strategic partnerships for the future of smart manufacturing.
