Mr Kilzer, what does nostalgia mean to you?
Nostalgia is an incredibly powerful human emotion. It can comfort us, but it can also deceive us. Nostalgia can serve as a warning, or we can hide away in it. It is precisely this that threatens to water down history or lead to it being carelessly misunderstood. Isn’t that exactly where we need good historians?
