  • Vegetation analysis and mapping of various biotope types
  • Vegetation dynamics (development of methods, implementation, evaluation procedures)
  • Possible solutions to methodological problems of the vegetation study of ecotones
  • Ecological site parameters (recording, analysis and presentation)
Nature conservation biology
  • Biodiversity research: Biodiversity of vineyard and post-mining landscapes, hedges and forest edges
  • Post-mining landscapes: succession and vegetation development, renaturation
  • Concepts: Species protection concept Saxony, floods and nature conservation
Population biology
  • Strategies and traits of plants in extreme locations (e.g. mining dumps, vineyards, pond sludge)
