Research interests
Vegetation ecology/botany
- Vegetation analysis and mapping of various biotope types
- Vegetation dynamics (development of methods, implementation, evaluation procedures)
- Possible solutions to methodological problems of the vegetation study of ecotones
- Ecological site parameters (recording, analysis and presentation)
Nature conservation biology
- Biodiversity research: Biodiversity of vineyard and post-mining landscapes, hedges and forest edges
- Post-mining landscapes: succession and vegetation development, renaturation
- Concepts: Species protection concept Saxony, floods and nature conservation
Population biology
- Strategies and traits of plants in extreme locations (e.g. mining dumps, vineyards, pond sludge)
