Modelled on the JuniorUni, which is successfully run in Freiberg by the local network “Junior Researchers at the TU Bergakademie Freiberg”, a science show for school pupils took place in Ulaanbaatar today. The team is relying on science entertainer Joachim Hecker and his experience with this format for young people. TUBAF coordinator Kathrin Häußler and photographer Andreas Hiekel are also travelling with the team.
In 2025, the team presented the “Nomadic Children” project to the then director of the Goethe-Institut in Ulaanbaatar and also discussed the possibility of organising a children’s university for schools in the PASCH network. “This idea has now become a reality,” says coordinator Kathrin Häußler. “Whether in Freiberg or Ulaanbaatar, children and young people are thrilled when they get to experience a special lecture in a university lecture theatre.”
