Individual coaching sessions
We offer young researchers individual career coaching sessions that enables them to
- determine their individual professional development,
- reflect on professional role requirements in day-to-day research or
- plan the next step in their career.
In addition to promoting academic careers, coaching also supports doctoral students in professional decision-making processes and transition scenarios in business, industry or society/politics.
The coaching offers you a protected environment in which you and the coach can look at your issues together from different perspectives, discuss alternative solutions and analyse their opportunities and side effects.
Please contact Dr Theresa Wand for a personal appointment.

Science Communication
Good science communication is becoming increasingly important in research, society and the media. People want to understand what researchers are doing – and present that information in a way that is understandable, exciting and relevant.
As part of the WISNA programme, we are offering individual science communication coaching sessions over the next few months.
During these sessions, you will learn:
- how to present your research topic in an understandable and exciting way to different target groups;
- which formats suit you best;
- how traditional media work and how you can use them to your advantage;
- how to meaningfully integrate science communication into funding applications;
- what science communication opportunities are available to you at TUBAF.
In addition, we can collaborate with our colleagues from Department 5 – University Communications – to develop your research topic for press and public relations purposes.
We tailor this individual support process to your personal interests and priorities. The recommendation is for three to four meetings over a period of three months. However, a one-off appointment is also possible. Coaching is free of charge.
Due to the limited funding period, we can unfortunately only offer coaching until April 2026, so take advantage of this opportunity and get in touch as soon as possible.
