The north wing of the Clemens-Winkler Building and the connection to the main building were built between 2012 and 2014. The wing contains laboratories that are used for training students in their practical skills through to their final theses.

In 2012, various buildings were demolished in the courtyard of the Clemens-Winkler building and the area was prepared for the new laboratory wing (north wing). These included, for example, the "nitrogen dispenser", the "autoclave rooms" and the maths lecture theatre.
