Ombudsperson
The ombudsperson is the point of contact for scientists, students and doctoral candidates on issues relating to good scientific practice and scientific misconduct. Their role is primarily advisory and mediatory. The duties of the ombudsperson are set out in Section 11 of the Regulations for Ensuring Good Scientific Practice and Dealing with Scientific Misconduct at TU Bergakademie Freiberg.

Commission for the Investigation of Allegations of Scientific Misconduct
If suspicions of possible scientific misconduct by members of TUBAF are confirmed, a formal investigation procedure will be conducted by a corresponding commission.
The members of the commission for investigating allegations of scientific misconduct are:
- Prof. Dr. David Rafaja (as a university lecturer in the field of natural sciences)
- Prof. Dr.-Ing. Holger Lieberwirth (as a university lecturer in the field of engineering)
- Prof. Dr. Sylvia Rogler (as a university lecturer in the field of economics and social sciences)
- Dr. Beate Fankhänel (as representative of the non-professorial academic staff)
Advisory members of the commission are:
- the Vice-Rector for Research and Transfer, Prof. Dr. Martin Bertau, and
- the ombudsperson, Prof. Dr. Stefan Buske.
