Freemasonry in the Ore Mountains - a historical journey through the history of the royal art
Freemasonry, also known as the royal art, has a long and eventful history in the Ore Mountains. Its beginnings date back to around 1742, shortly after the first lodge was founded on German soil in Hamburg in 1737. Until 1933/35, freemasonry was an integral part of the life and work of free men of good repute.
This lecture will take a closer look at the history of this association, especially in the Ore Mountains, and show the various locations, currently a good 20 known ones. From the first lodge in Sachsenfeld to the last lodge foundation in Stollberg, this lecture contains many important stations of the royal art and shows how strong the spread and dissemination of the basic values of this tolerant brotherhood was.
