eCSM The Future of Groundwork

Getting electrified - the future of groundwork is greener and smarter. The first fully electrified trench cutter is on display during June 2025. Resulting from Deep Sea Sampling, this cutter head showed its ability during intensive field tests - cutting straight through 20 meters of soil - faster and more precise than ever before.

Wear-n-tear marks, rustspots, scratches - issues you won't expect on a show exhibit for the future of groundwork. But that case its a mark of it's ability: Bauers brand new'eCSM (electrified Cutter Soil Mixing) has just finished field testing, with amazing results regarding speed, precision, and efficiency. For TU Bergakademie Freiberg's 76th BHT (mountain and metallurgical day, at annual assembly of visitors dedicated to mining and processing), the eCSM cutter head will have it's second roadshow station after bauma 2025.

Developed during DeepSeaSampling, six strong partners had collaborated to design a system ultimately showing the benefits of electrification: 2x200 kW power deliverd at spot, 85% overall effciency, speed up to 40 r are level level never reached before. Going to continue DeepSeaSampling much more R&D will be done to further improve and secure these results - for an electrified future in groundwork, construction and mining.
