Die Gründerinnen von CYNiO

In June, the budding founders of CYNiO were honoured twice for their pitches and business ideas! They impressed the Investorday Thüringen jury and won the special prize in the chemstars From Lab to Market competition.

CYNiO is a current spin-off project that emerged from the Silicon Chemistry working group at TU Bergakademie Freiberg. Since June 2024, the interdisciplinary team has been funded by the EXIST programme to develop an innovative business model from research results.

The technology developed at TU Bergakademie Freiberg uses CO2 instead of the highly toxic gas phosgene to synthesise special isocyanates that are currently difficult or impossible to find on the market. This innovative approach offers the industry a safer alternative to conventional synthesis processes.

The process is particularly valuable for the research sector as it enables the production of small quantities of special isocyanates. While large corporations focus on mass production, CYNiO offers solutions for researchers who are looking for small quantities of very special chemical building blocks to make existing products more innovative.

CYNiO is currently in the pilot project phase and is looking for researchers who would like to test the special isocyanates. If you are interested, please contact us at hello [at] cynio [dot] net.
