Way of St James from Klingenberg-Colmnitz railway station to Freiberg
If you fancy some exercise in the fresh air, want to explore Freiberg's surroundings and enjoy socialising, you are cordially invited to join the hikes we are offering this semester. The hikes can be booked individually via the UniNow app. Participation fee 4 EUR per hike, plus any additional expenses for train and bus tickets and catering. Important: The hikes each last several hours and require physical fitness and suitable personal equipment (shoes and clothing suitable for hiking, rucksack with food and drinks for on the way, rain protection if necessary).
We will first take the train to Klingenberg-Colmnitz in the Tharandt Forest. From there, we walk northwards and join the Saxon Way of St James coming from Grillenburg, on which we reach Naundorf. We continue along the Bobritzsch valley to Falkenberg and from there uphill to Conradsdorf. From the Mulde valley, the trail leads us past the Reichen Zeche colliery back to Freiberg. Return around 6 p.m., walking distance approx. 17 km, approx. 220 metres in altitude. Due to the length of the route, physical fitness is required.
