Q&A Session PhD council

It's that time of year again, the TUBAF Doctoral Council will be electing its new members on 6 and 7 May 2025. Would you like to actively support doctoral students, plan events and get involved in university politics? Then put yourself forward as a candidate for election by 15 April 2025! As an elected member of the Doctoral Council, you can actively work for 2 years to improve the working and living conditions of doctoral students at TU Bergakademie Freiberg (and other Saxon universities). This gives you the opportunity to actively influence university policy both internally and externally as a committee and to have a say in important decisions. You can give free rein to your creative freedom by organising various events for doctoral students, such as the annual PhD Conference as part of the BHT - Freiberg University Forum.

As a committee at the university, we represent the entirety of the university's doctoral students in the Rectorate Commission on Diversity, Equality and Inclusion, as well as the Rectorate Commissions on Research and Graduate Funding.

We also take part in panel discussions hosted by various political parties and in the dialogue forum at the Saxon State Ministry of Science, Art and Tourism (SMWK) in order to influence Saxon and national higher education legislation in the interests of doctoral students. At a state-wide level, we coordinate with the doctoral student organisations of other universities - a strong network that will benefit from your cooperation!
