Listening evening: Lost in the ice - 110 years of the Endurance expedition

To mark the 110th anniversary of the Endurance Expedition, we are presenting an audio evening in the reading room (2nd floor, lounge area) of the University Library.

In the winter of 1914/1915, Ernest Shackleton set off on his expedition to Antarctica with the aim of being the first to cross it. On 18 January 1915, his ship, the Endurance, was trapped by pack ice. For 18 months, the crew struggled to survive in one of the most inhospitable places in the world.

The records of this odyssey have found their way into numerous films, novels and radio plays.
