Purpose of the foundation
The foundation's statutes specify the tasks for which the foundation funds are to be used. Paragraph 2 states: The purpose of the foundation is primarily the promotion of practical and application-oriented science and research at the Technische Universität Bergakademie Freiberg. The aim is to promote research results that can be implemented in the Free State of Saxony, preferably in Freiberg, produced here and sold from here.
The purpose of the foundation is also the establishment and operation of a geosciences collection in the KRÜGERHAUS.
The "Dr Erich Krüger Foundation" is "non-expendable" according to its statutes.
Board of Trustees
The Executive Board decides on the use of the foundation's funds at the suggestion of the Technische Universität Bergakademie Freiberg. This concerns the measures to maintain the foundation capital on the one hand, and investments in research on the other. In the latter case, the Executive Board decides on the recommendation of the Rectorate of TU Bergakademie Freiberg. To this end, the Rectorate collects and reviews the proposals received from the university and proposes individual projects.
