Reinstallation of the eduroam configuration for Android
On 9 December 2025, the certificates previously used for eduroam registration will lose their validity.
It is therefore necessary to install an updated eduroam configuration on all end devices.
To do this, it is necessary to create a new eduroam password for each device.
Step 1: Download geteduroam app (if not already available)
Download the latest geteduroam app via the Play Store or via the link on the website https://www.eduroam.app/.
Step 2: Start geteduroam app and install new profile
Start the geteduroam app and click on the button for reconfiguring the profile.
If you do not see the button, select the "Connect" button instead and continue with step 3.
Step 2.1: Confirm reconfiguration
Confirm the reconfiguration of the profile with the "Reconfigure Device" button.
Step 3: Enter access data
Now enter your access data. Enter your central URZ user name as the user name.
The ending "@tu-freiberg.de" is automatically added to the user name. If this is not the case for you, enter this manually.
Attention: Do NOT enter your email address, use your login name.
For the password, use a newly generated app password for eduroam in the Service Portal.
Now connect to eduroam and the new configuration via the "Login" button.
