Georg Jäger's research focuses on "Smart and Connected Cyber-Physical Systems," with an emphasis on sensor data processing, uncertainty modeling, and the secure application of artificial intelligence. He finds the primary application areas in mobile robotics and utilizes interdisciplinary collaboration as a source for further use cases.

His interest in these fields developed during his studies (B.Sc./M.Sc. Computer Systems in Engineering) at Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg, which he completed in 2016. He then earned his doctorate (Dr.-Ing.) from TU Bergakademie Freiberg, successfully defending his dissertation in 2022. After a postdoctoral stay at the Universidade de Lisboa (Portugal), he returned to research and teaching at the Bergakademie and served as acting professor of "Artificial Intelligence" during the winter semester of 2025 at the Institute of Computer Science, Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science.

Dr. André Dietrich received his doctorate from Otto von Guericke University Magdeburg in the field of Embedded Systems and Robotics, specializing in distributed systems and the Internet of Things (IoT). His research focuses on the efficient acquisition, storage, and processing of data in distributed environments.

During his scientific and technical career, he developed a particular interest in programming languages ​​and paradigms, as well as web technologies. This connection led to numerous research and development projects, including SelectScript (a declarative query language for simulations, distributed and embedded systems), LiaScript (a Markdown-based language for interactive teaching and learning materials), and Edrys-Lite (a peer-to-peer system for decentralized remote labs).

His current focus is on interactive Open Educational Resources (OER) and browser-based technologies, with the aim of making digital teaching practical, accessible, and sustainable. In the winter semester of 2025, he taught the lecture and tutorials on databases.

PostDoc

Dave Ahrens worked as a research assistant/postdoc in the field of "Applications of regression algorithms in experimental design and ML-based microstructure analyses" at the Chair of AI and Databases from 2021 to 2022. He currently works as a data analyst and developer for machine learning applications at enaDyne GmbH.
