To help students settle into their studies, in addition to the introductory sessions, there are also support courses designed to develop academic skills and ease the transition into everyday university life.
An Introduction to E-learning Tools and Online Services
The E-Learning department of our Media Centre, in collaboration with the IUZ, is offering an online seminar on digital teaching for all first-year students. The seminar will introduce the main teaching platform, OPAL, web conferencing systems and other online services relevant to your studies. It also covers the timetable and self-service facilities for students.

Study Sisters Mentoring Programme
The mentoring programme aims to support female students as they begin their studies in a trusting environment and to give them the opportunity to share their questions, ideas and perspectives with experienced mentors and like-minded peers.
Specifically, it offers support with settling into university life through
- mentors who are at an advanced stage of their studies
- small peer groups of first-year students
- workshops on managing your studies
- alumni evenings to exchange ideas with interesting individuals
