EMerald – Master’s Programme in Georesources Engineering
TUBAF has been involved in the Erasmus Mundus Master’s program EMerald since 2013, coordinated by the University of Liège, Belgium. EMerald is a two-year master's program (4 semesters with 30 ECTS per semester) jointly organized by 4 top-level European Universities, each of which hosts the students for at least a semester and delivers a Degree. EMerald has received the EIT Label, a quality seal awarded to top Master and PhD programmes that excel in shaping a new generation of students into game changers and innovators.
The first semester takes place at the University of Liège (ULiège), the second semester at University of Lorraine (UL) in Nancy, the third semester at Luleå University of Technology (LTU) or TUBAF, and the fourth semester at one of the four partner universities.
The EMerald master's program aims to train a new generation of engineers with an entrepreneurial mind-set, capable of identifying and sustainably managing the mineral and metal resources that are essential for the green energy transition. The programme is designed to focus on the following major aspects of Resources Engineering - Characterisation, Processing, Modelling and Management.
